There are so many things bad about this unit but here are a few:

-it doesn’t give enough warning for turns, maybe 300 feet and I can’t look at it in heavy traffic to determine which lane I need to be in, makes me crazy

-It won’t give direction for which way to turn out of a parking lot. Please, this is a basic need.

-It can’t find a satellite for many, many minutes even in populated areas, not out in the woods.

-We have paid for updated maps and they are STILL outdated. It has directed us to non-existent freeway exits, non-existent roads in the Smoky Mountains and Charlotte County FL.

-It cannot recognize that we have exited the freeway (on it’s instruction) and tell us which way to go next.

I don’t know why it isn’t broken in a thousand pieces due to it’s outrageous stupidity.

And I can’t believe how many people are happy with this crappy unit.

Now I can’t trust any other reviews I read in trying to find a more reliable GPA system. Hell.

I recomend it! Living in Gilbert (outer area of Phoenix AZ) it doesn’t have many of the new neiborhoods in it. I”m sure this would be an issue in other very new areas of cities. It syncs up to Satilightes very fast. Sorry about the spelling, but Amazon doesn’t have a spell check in thier review page. I think that’s been the worst experience I’ve had so far about this GPS. The fact that Amazon makes it harder for me to do a better job spelling in this review has made me more upset, then when the GPS sent me down a dumb two lane road that was much slower then another rout, simply because the two lane road was more of a strait line. YEs, it does that. So, it’s not perfect, but you will never ever get lost if you have this and the Austrialion women’s voice is sexy and it’s fun to hear her mispronounce street names. You also have to remember to have the antena flip thing up, or it won’t sinc. Have a nice day and make sure to have your pets spayed or noudered.

The refurbished Garmin looks and peforms like new-perfect condition. I received all of the cords, exactly as Amazon advertised. A bargain for $169 with no tax and shipping.Would highly recommended!

I was a bit unsure about ordering a “reconditioned” product, but after using on a out of town trip, I am very satisfied! Registration was a bit of an issue, but after holding for 30 minutes a factory rep “reset” my SN so it could be registered. But checking the website today, I find they have old data for my serial # “May 10, 2007 “…. If I have problems and need warranty repair, I’ll take this up with Amazon as we know when it was purchased by me! So take off a couple of stars!

I wish that this gave you a little more warning before turns sometimes. Having to update the maps for $60 is also a bit irritating. Other than that, the unit works fantastically.
