I had to purchase this mount because I lost a bolt from the previous one I owned. The piece that actually holds the GPS has a screw in the middle secured with a bolt. If this piece turns, the screw comes loose and requires tightening or the GPS will turn while it is mounted. It is a poor design.

Although the description said it would work with my model GPS, the item I received was inappropriate and would not work with it. The Amazon Marketplace seller was uncommunicative but fortunately Amazon’s guarantee took effect and I was able to get a refund… but not the mount. :(

I travel a great deal and this always works. Good strong suction mount. Easy to adjust flex arm. Have another in my wife’s car. Sorry they have stopped making it. Will buy an extra from third party vendor.

the roadmate 700 is excellent. Nice big screen, however, this bracket allows the unit to vibrate considerably. I’m planning on purchasing a custom bracket sold on eBAY for about $45. + shipping.

This is not a Magellan product as advertised. Or at least it’s not the same style mount that comes with the Magellan roadmate series I have.

You have to attach this suction mount to the back of your roadmate 800′s bracket ( my experience ) using screws and an adapter plate (supplied ).

Once you have done that it works like the original Magellan mount, however if you are switching from this mount, lets say in one car to another car that is using the original mount supplied with the GPS, you must remove the adapter plate each time.

The mount I just received is made in Germany and seems to be very nice quality. Taking into consideration the price, being less than half of what the original Magellan mount costs it’s better to probably buy as many of these as you would need.

Thus eliminating the need to unscrew the adapter plate each time.

Over all I would recommend this product.
